Stories to Draw On

Sauer, who writes and illustrates stories for children, describes the writing process. Using suggestions from the audience, he draws examples of how an author creates characters, setting and plot. In the second half of the program, Sauer provides basic art instruction to help children illustrate their own stories.
Schools often use "Stories to Draw On" in conjunction with units on writing or storytelling. Libraries find "Stories to Draw On" makes a great after-school or summer program.
